My understanding is that the Canada models have the
low range. I know US models currently do not.
According to one Canada Audi dealer, they will not
sell you a new Canada model if you're a US citizen,
but they can sell you a used one. I know this sounds
like an "urban legend" type thing, not sure if this is
true.
But I figure in 10 yrs or so q-listers will be
importing low-range conversion kits just as regularly
as we now get eurolights :-) BTW, the reduction isn't
that much, was 1.4 or 1.6:1 - can't recall --- but I
suppose it's plenty of reduction for anything you'd
want to do in a relatively low-slung car.
