Is that dampener unique to the 200? Every Audi I've driven so far has shown
this behaviour to some extent, my 80 does it a lot- readings can vary by
1/2 tank in curves or on a straight road. Anyway, I've learnt not to regard
the fuel gauge as any kind of precision instrument but as an indication how
much fuel approximately remains in the tank. I've also noticed that the
amount of fuel indicated on the gauge differs when you switch the engine
off and restart- by as much as ten litres, sometimes.
