1.8T motor into an Ur-Q?

I dunno if the TYP89 subframe would fit the urq, BUT it all has to come
from Europe anyways. The 4 cylinder quats, TYP85 and TYP89, were only
available over there. This project is in the US if I am not mistaken. So
it's a pain no matter what. I would be inclined to get a good welder to
make a hybrid subframe. Plus there is one problem, the 1.8t doesn't even
bolt up to the existing 4 cylinder mounting points on the 4 cyl FWD
subframe, another detail I forgot. The fellow in Germany with the 80 1.8t
FWD had to have the mounting points moved and some welding had to be done,
so it's possible, but the whole subframe assembly would have to be
customized for the 1.8t.

Though I am inclined to believe that the older style mounting wings from
a 2.0, like my poor 80, would bolt up to the 1.8t engine to mount it to the
4 cyl subframe without mods. That 1.8t block probably has the proper bolt
holes for the older wings, but that is totally a guess...

Cheers,
