Power Antenna Question ('88 5KSQ)

My original power antenna broke.  Stuck in the 1/2 way position.  Could hear 
the motor whirring away when the radio was turned on and off.  Just took it 
apart to see if a repair was possible.

The gears are fine.  The white flexible plastic cord is broken.  Is this 
what you get when you go to the dealer and buy a new mast?  Does the white 
flexible cord come with the mast?  Can the white flexible cord be repaired 
without buying the whole mast?

Does anybody remember what they cost?  Is there another source other than 
the dealer?  Anybody got a part nmumber?

Boy, was that thing filthy in there.  It is a wonder it worked at all.  The 
mast was very difficult to move manually.  I used to regularly squirt and 
wipe WD-40 on mine, but it did not seem to have helped.  If you want to keep 
yours working, it would be prudent to take it apart for a good cleaning and 
relube.  They're not complicated.
