Subject: T44 - removing radiator thermoswitch?

I used a 29mm regular socket. With the extension 
barely inserted into the socket, there was enough to
grab the thermoswitch. It wasn't hard to remove. 
Have the new one ready to go in and you won't
lose much coolant.




Can't seem to get the thermoswitch off.  Looks like a
29mm deep socket would work well but no one seems to
carry this size socket.

What else can I use to get this bugger off?

turning the plastic portion of the thing doesn't do
anything
