The bushings can be replaced separately. I recently replace all the bushings
in both rear control arms. Got rid of the clunks, etc., and vastly improved
the handling (also rear tire wear).
I bought the ones I could from Rod at The Parts Connection (the large
inboard bushings)and ordered the others from Blau (the small outboard
bushings - you need 4 of these). I also had to buy a used hub carrier and
trapezoidal arm from Chris Semple, since the bolt holding the hub carrier to
the trapezoidal arm was frozen and sheared off inside the hub carrier.
You'll need to get a local machine shop to press them in for you, unless you
have a substantial hydraulic press and the right fixtures. My machine shop
pressed them in for me for about $30.

Subject: Type-44 Questions...rear suspension.
While trying to remove my final drive this weekend, I noticed one of my
rear lower control arm bushings was worn out. This was the bushing between
the trapezoidal arm and the frame of my 200tq. I'm getting a loud clunk
and squeaks, and think I found the cause.
Can these bushings be replaced individually, or must the entire control
arm be replaced?
If anyone has done this job, where can one source these bushings?
TIA,
Will
