5K Door Handle

I've searched the archives (and I know it's in there someplace), but cannot 
find it.  I've searched the usual sites.  But I can't find the repair 
procedure and repair kit part numbers for the infamous type 44 broken door 
handle fix.

The thing locks and unlocks perfectly.  The door handle "trigger" will not 
open the door.  The "trigger" is intact.  It's just not connected to 
anything now inside the door.  The interior door release works fine.

Do I have to buy a whole new outside handle?  I thought there was an Audi 
factory repair kit or part that fixed this condition???

This damn car is a poster child for all the common things that go wrong with 
these cars.  This list has accurately predicted every one of its failings.
