Hi all,
had something really weird happen to my 92 100CSq yesterday. In
the morning I started up the car and rolled out of the garage. Once out
of the garage the windows didn't work at all. Sunroof had no problems. I
decided to shut the car down and turn it back on and everything came back.
I figured it was maybe a one time thing that I will look into later if it
get's worse. About 15 minutes into my commute the water and oil temps
start to rise and I don't hear the fan come on at all. I was stuck in
traffic for about 2 minutes before I could pull off into a church parking
lot. While sitting in traffic I tried to turn the heat on but the climate
control was not responding at all. I thought that this might be part of
the window problem I had earlier so I tried the windows and they worked.
So I had the car towed to my mechanic and he thinks that the ignition
switch may be causing all of these problems. When you start the car the
switch would stick and cause the starter to run for about 2 seconds after
the car has started up. I can manually turn the key back slightly to stop
it from happening. Could a sticky ignition switch be causing all of my
problems? My mechanic says that the switch is part of the accessories
circuit and may have caused the radiator fan not to function, and all the
electrical weirdness.
Thanks,
Ben Kwan
