I have an Audi Wiesbaden Radio. After disconnecting the battery it asked me for a code. I entered it just like the instructions the previous owner wrote for me, but it didn't work. I found out later that his instructions were for a different model radio than what was currently in my car. So now my radio only says "SAFe" and it wont let me even try any more codes. In the manual that I just now acquired for it, it says that if too many incorrect codes are entered the radio will need to be replaced. Which brings me to my question. Does it REALLY need to be replaced? The dealer said I could trade it for a replacement for $110. Before I do that I just thought id ask to see if any of you know some trick or miracle to get the thing working again. I was told to leave it in the freezer overnight, which I tried, but it didn't work. So just for good measure I cranked the temperature all the way down and left it in for a week. Still "SAFe".
I'm quite sure that my only option is to trade it in for $110, but I just wanted to check to see if anyone has a better solution first. Please Please someone have a better solution!! :-)
