Due to financial constraints, and the fact that I really have no need for
an automobile, I am looking for a buyer for my 1990 200 Turbo Quattro.
The car was given to me last November by my parents (they have other
vehicles for their business and were no longer using the Audi, but were
hoping it would stay in the family), who purchased it from the original
owner in 1993 (the warranty period had expired so he purchased a V8).

Because there is some work I need to have done, and because I am short on
cash at the moment (daycare, student loans, etc.), I have driven it all of
about two miles in the last 10 weeks, just to put air in the right front
tire which does lose air slowly. Following is what I can tell you about
the vehicle:

It has 135,000 miles on it and runs fine for a car with that mileage. I
used it primarily to go snowboarding an hour away a couple times a week
throughout the winter and generally found it a pleasure to drive. I
consider myself fortunate not to have been given any speeding tickets, not
so much because I am bent on speeding, but because the car just feels good
going fast (as anyone who has driven one surely knows). The body is in
good shape (particularly for New England, although from reading, I gather
these are rather rust resistant cars). There are a couple spots of rust
along the rear bumper and some bubbling paint in spots where the metal
meets plastic, but generally the car looks quite nice. There is a subtle
dent in the right rear, behind the fuel door. Also, the metal piece that
provides tension for the fuel door is fatigued and ocassionally falls off.
I have a new fuel door (can't buy just that small metal piece) that I have
yet to install (needs priming and painting). There is a small crack in
one of the rear light covers. The leather interior is in good condition,
although I noticed today that the lining is peeling back in one spot along
the left rear window. The radio works, although there is a problem with
the cassette player where one cannot hear both channels. The car was
garaged up until I took ownership last November. Since then it has been
parked in a private space behind my building.

Since owning it, I have had the following work done:

- a general tune up w/oil change at 133,900 miles

- one wheel bearing replaced (right front)

- new brakes and rotors (all four)

- new power steering pump

- new accelerator pedal

Also, my parents put new tires on it (Dunlop D60A2 205/60 H15) before they
gave it to me (at 128,000 miles)

Problems I am aware of at the moment include:

- passenger seat heater stopped working around March

- rear window motors both need replacing

- printed circuit board for sensors needs replacing (brake servicing light
stays on, despite new brakes). Was quoted cost of $317 for part

- fuse for circuit for instrument lights blew about a week before I
stopped driving it and then shortly after again. I have not had a chance
to have someone look at this.

These are the only problems I am aware of at this time. I have service
documentation going back to 1993. I have a few pictures of the car online
at http://plateofshrimp.com/audi and will take more if asked (I realize I
do not have pictures of the exterior blemishes mentioned above). The
child seat (and child) are not included, but the Thule roof rack is.

Recognizing that there is some work to be done, I am asking $2,500. I am
posting to this list first because I am quite fond of the car and would
like to see it go to someone who appreciates Audis and who has the desire
and ability to keep it running well and enjoy it.

The car is in Somerville, Massachusetts. If you are interested, please
contact me via email at jmg at plateofshrimp.com. I will do my best to
answer any questions and, as I said, I can provide more photos upon
request.

thanks,

-Jonathan
