MC-1 compression ratio mods

Hello,
Okay, I'm getting excited about the prospect of swapping the
pistons from my KX motor that I've had sitting on an engine stand
for years, into my '88 5kcstq in order to increase the c/r from 7.8:1
to 8.5:1.
Is there any reason that this would not be possible? Has anyone
done this sort of thing?
It seems that if the block, crank, and connecting rods were all
retained in the turbo block, that things should work out okay.
Supposedly the bore and strokes of the motors are the same. So
then, the piston must be responsible for the c/r differences?
Also, what does the second knock sensor in the MC-2 gain over
the single knock sensor in the MC-1? Is it okay to run MC-2-level
compression ratios in an MC-1 motor (mostly concerned about
knock sensing)?
Thanks,
Ken
