No, I do not think so. The failed hose acts like a pop-
off valve. You loose so much power that the charger
cannot rev so badly. Of course there is a possibility 
for a failure of T, if You continue stepping on it...
I´ve lost it a couple of times with 16- and 10-v engine;)

May I ask You, was the upper hose failed?
