Javad,
Would it be a "simple matter of substituting some higher flow injectors to
help overcome the "wall" reached for fuel delivery at around 18 PSI? Or is
this not something I can do with CIS.
Ben
'87 5000cstqw Bossted with QLCC+Resistor Mod + 2Bar Spring and Shrapnel knob
to around 18 PSI - anymore and she detonates!
[Its been a while since the last update, so I thought I would send one =)
The car is running very well, I have been driving it about 50 miles a day
since the conversion 3 or 4 months ago. I went to 5 psi on the original
26lb
injectors, then went to 12 psi with with some 30lb injectors, soon I will be
going to about 18-20 psi with 45lb injectors. I have ended up with about 5
or 6 very good fuel maps for different driving conditions which can be
loaded
on the fly if needed.
As I have mentioned before, I wish I could give you all a ride -being we are
Audi enthusiasts who love to modify them to go faster, I think you all would
appreciate it. 12psi may seen like woohoo, but 12psi in this car is making
a
lot more power than any CIS car I have ever modified or tuned, the
difference
is the efficient intake tract helped by the lack of the CIS airflow meter.
With 12psi, it is tough to accelerate in this thing around town or on the
freeway without hitting rediculous speeds...lets say you are cruzing at
about
40 on a normal road through town in 3rd, mash WOT, and it about 3 or 4
seconds the car is going 60-70 mph, very fun. 18-20psi should be
interesting
as well. Accelerating through cornerns in 1-3 gear challenges even the
traction of Quattro, especially 1st gear.
I have recieved an overwhelming # of requests for more info on the fuel
system and the supplementary fuel system I used in the original turbo
conversion, so I have posted a page that gives specifcations and
availability
info if anyone is interested.
