Hmmmm, have you considered buying a block heater/dipstick heater for the
V8Q? There may be some battery driven ones that will heat the block and
oil for the duration of you wife's seven minute drive....... (including
the sandwich plate water to oil coolers like in the A2 GTi/GLi, although
don't get one of those particular units, they are leak prone, BTDT!)
