Well, as it turns out, Blaufergnugen sent the correct bearing after 
all.  They were really nice this morning, and triple checked the part 
number.  When I got the car back today, the shop owner told me that 
the technician had installed the bearing backwards, so it didn't seat 
properly......but far enough that it wouldn't come back out. 
Apparently, there's a groove machined into the race that's just a 
tiny bit off center, and as a result, the bearing only goes into the 
hub one way.  So, all is well again. For now, anyway.
