Oh my fricking gahd. I haven't heard "Flymo" in years! Do not, I repeat DO
NOT buy a Flymo. They should be called Fly No. Or more appropriately, No
Mow. My experience:

We had a ha-yooj yard w/much grass to mow. Dad sees Flymo ad on TV (as do
the kids who do all the mowing) and purchase is made. Brought home and used
first time. Mom notices not all grass is cut, mow it again. Once again,
grass appears same height. A THIRD time, this time mom mows it--little
change if any!!

Dad (owner of VW/Audi store) consults service manager. He says, "Well Jack,
how do you think it stays aloft? The blades. They create a cushion of
air--how can it cut grass if floating on air and no grass can reach the
blades?" Dad knocks hand on forehead, "Duh!" Same reason hovercrafts don't
need keels.

Flymos are good if you want your grass to have the punk haircut look, that's
it. Just find a quality, self-propelled mower w/wheels. You'll be glad you
did.
