Hmm.. I think 4" won't hurt any electronics. Just get a *really*
powerful shop vacuum cleaner (wet & dry, of course) and suck up all
the water. Continue to vacuum the carpets at least 5 times more than
you thing is necessary, and then leave the car to dry a few sunny and
hot days. I've had the carpet out in several type 44s, and AFAIK
there's no insulation under the carpet, except up front & transmission
tunnel. Just get the water out and let it dry completely. Be positive,
now you got the carpet really clean.. :-)
