  Martin...........that is my feeling too.   The typical racing fan in the U.S. wants to be able to sit down and have the complete track in front of them.   Until something changes, most of them would not be willing to go out and follow the cars from stage to stage on a rally.   

  I was able to attend the WRC rallies in 1986 and 87 in Washington state (didn't make 1988)........talking to people about it later they couldn't believe I would go out and drive miles and miles to catch as many stages of the rally as possible.......their comments were almost always  ........."I want to be able to grab a beer, sit down in my seat and watch the complete race from there."   It will be a challenge to educate the racing fans over here (U.S.) to rally........IF they are willing to try, they will be hooked!
