During the week-end, I had the chance to look at my car (1993 90S Q). While the car was jacked, I had the good idea to have a look at oil level at the rear differential. The level was checked I year ago when I bought the car and was perfect.
What I discovered, an almost empty differential. I added 600 ml, whereas the reservoir is 800 ml. As typical aged Audi, yes there is oil leak as indicated by the dirty seal along one drive axis.
My question, did I have damaged the differential or this unit is bullet proof ?
I put on less that 15 000 km since last check up.
