the whole reason audi sent us to germany, and supplied
us with all the tools we should ever need to use on
the car and every fastener you could possibly need, is
that with aluminum, if it touches any steel or any
fasteners that are not coated with some green colored
crap, it will form contact corrosion ( rust in
aluminum ). so, if you put a a/m cell phone in your
a8, and put another antenna hole in the quarter, and
use a regular fitting, it will rot and fall through in
about a year. check this out-here is what you have to
do to fix a dent in a door, one that dent wizard
cant-first you sand the area with the a8 da sander, if
you use the one in your toolbox you take the chance
that it has metal dust from the job you just sanded
before, remember, rust from metal dust, then you have
to cover the sanded area of the door with an a8
primer, because most body fillers have some metal in
them and here we go again with the metal touching
aluiminum, then you sand your filler, finish that up
and again spray the 100 dollar a can primer on it.
then you use your regular filling or coating primer
and paint. the same with windshields, if you just cut
the old one out and urethane the new one in, it'll
fall out in a year, you have to put a specail coating
under the urethane so it does not touch the body. the
cars are great, very strong, built like tanks, but we
cringe when we see one get towed in !!! there are
going to be alot of junk a8's in a few years because
alot of people do not know this about the cars.
