I did much the same thing with Fiat twin cam motors, which were the same 
thing really.
What I did was to put the pulley on a mill, mounted to a degree wheel. Lining 
up the stock hole, and then turning 120 degrees, I drilled a hole at plus 4 
and plus 8 degrees. This gave me 2 choices to play with in combination with 
re-jetting the stock Weber carburetor. I was trying to increase overlap. I 
had no idea why, but all the pundits told me to. They were right. I had a 
ball with those disposable cars. I think R&T referred to them as the best 
handling "live rear axle" cars in the world.
Great fun those DOHC cross flow hemi head motors.
