Hi!
I have got an AUDI 100 (=200) with late MC engine with
two knock sensors and MAC14 ECU. And here my problem
is beginning. When I found on the internet how to get
the fault codes from ECU, I was very happy and I did
it immediately. For my big disappointment there were
many errors, such as 2113-hall sender, 2123-full
throttle switch, 2142+2144-knock sensors 1 and 2,
2322-inlet air temperature sensor and a few others.
Because I`m an electrician it was not a big problem to
find out what was the cause of the errors, so I
repaired all the errors except for codes 2142 and 2144
- knock sensors. I`m very angry because the loss of
engine power is very significant. I was looking
everywhere on the internet how to repair these errors
but I found just - check sensors, wiring, short or
open circuit, check mounting torque, check cleanliness
of mounting surface, check ECU for water and so on.
BUT NOTHING SOLVED MY PROBLEM!!! ECU is OK (was
proven), sensors are OK(were measured), wiring is OK,
no water in ECU, clean surface, I tried many mounting
torques...For a little moment with certain mounting
torques the codes weren`t stored, but a few days after
they were stored again...CAN ANYBODY HELP ME??? I
would like to fool ECU and disconnect these
sensors-[as I did when I overboosted the engine with
strenghtened spring in turbo bypass valve- without
modified ECU if the overboost is more than 1.6bar the
ECU switches off the fuel relay- I connected my very
simple and cheap circuit to ECU pins which holds the
relay switched on. CAN ANYBODY TELL ME WHERE TO GET
MODIFIED EPROM FOR ECU???]
But when I disconnected the knock sensors-immediately
was fault code stored probably because no signal was
going to ECU. I would like to know what signal the ECU
needs for the wished situation of none error with
connected sensors and no engine knocking. Because if I
put correct signal to the ECU it must "think" that the
sensors are OK and there is no engine knocking. In a
car where no fault codes are present and engine isn`t
knocking, HOW THE ECU KNOWS THAT SENSORS ARE OK,
CORRECTLY CONNECTED AND THE SIGNAL DOESN`T MEAN
KNOCKING??? For me it is not important that the
knocking is dangerous for the engine, because if
somebody has 2bars or more going to engine, 1.8bar
cannot be problem. In my country used engines are
very cheap and if my engine was destroyed I would buy
another one... :-) So I wonder very much if I find
somebody whose advice will solve this problem....SO?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE IF YOU THINK YOUR
ADVICE COULD HELP ME AND YOU DECIDE TO WRITE ME- BYE!!!
