6-speed for CGT???

can't remember all the details for when I had my 84 CGT tranny apart, but
probably the only option without ditching the whole box would be to find a
different gearset for fifth...
my CGT has a tall fifth anyway so no problems there, but my 85 CQ has the
same problem as your car, only the gears really seem too low right through
the range, I run out of first gear in record time...
makes me think that i'd have to look at changing the final drive or the
complete g'box if i ever got round to the turbo conversion..!
I must say, that the gearbox on the CGT is silky smooth now, don't know why
or how, but it just falls into the gears, had it open to replace two broken
sychros, and they should help, but not this much...
Tempted to tear into the CQ just to try to achieve the same effect...
sorry, no real useful info here, just sharing my experiences...
still I guess I'm allowed to, the list is pretty quiet this afternoon...
