[Driving home from doing a bit of work for a friend on a boat I noticed an
84
audi 4000sq for sale on a tucked away road off a little used mt pass road
outside of Portland, OR. I flipped a quick u-turn and investigated. The

car has a bit of damage on two of the doors that wasn't properly taken car
of and is beginning to rust. Also, the back right quarter panel has some
rust on it. Other than that the car is fairly rust free. The interior
is in very good condition and entirely stock. The ad on the car says that
it is for sale for $575 or best offer. It seems like a good deal as long
as the engine is strong. Now the weird part. The ad on the car says the
car doesn't have a title. Also there isn't a phone number to call or
anything. It also has out of state plates. I've been going over it in my

head and that all seems really fishy. Why would a car not have a title?
The only explanation that I can think of is that the car is stolen. What
do you all think? The price is really low for the car. It's not being
advertised anywhere. There isn't any phone number to call. I'm baffled
but it's a good deal and I love those old 4000's. What to do?

I have a title-less car - they are best used for parts cars. Many times the
PO has lost the title and won't go through the trouble to get a re-issue.
This sounds like a good car for parts get the car for much cheaper, say $200
and buy a good running vehicle that may need some of the parts, but you can
deomonstrate is at least roadworthy when you buy it.
