Coilover upgrade 89 90q

My mechanic is using GC coilover parts for his rally monster. He has
two piece struts all around the car and 5000 Bilstein strut inserts all
around. I think the GC/2B stuff is just fine and will handle rally setups.
The only things about using steel collars is just that they may rust if you
are adjusting all the time. I guess having them powdercoated would help.

I am pleased with my setup, except for the fact that the front 2B setup
has no spacer for the single piece strut, the GC does. I may call GC one
day when I get the hankering to replace the duct tape up front with plastic
spacers, though the duct tape has caused no problems. My car handles much
to my liking.

2B and GC get their threaded collars from Coleman Racing Products I
believe. In their catalog they offer all the same parts, even the same
anodizing colors for the threaded body and lower perch, same diameters too.
I bet that is where that stuff comes from, why make it in house when someone
supplies it off the shelf. I bet a setup could be put together for less by
just buying the parts separately, but the only thing is the top perch is a
custom item.

Cheers!
