shift at 3k

so weve all got different opinions here, some say that short shifting is a
nightmare, some say its plenty of oommph.  Could it be that some of us have
our cam timing out?? lol
i know it sometimes feels quicker shifting around 4500-5000 than it does
redlining it  (granted ive still got a 4 cyl fuel pump relay), are the
torque curves that different between the different cars??

84 cgt.
likes 500-3000 rpm
loves 3000-5000 rpm
eats hot hatches
spits oil fumes
sounds like a motorbike
makes me laugh
