I've replaced the michellin man hose on my car ONCE. I've owned it for 4
years and about 60,000 miles; 3/4 of that, it's had a chip in it(and the
hose blew before the chip.)
The hose blows because of oil and because the TBPV fails, or the hose
controlling it fails. Reroute the vacuum line or replace most of it with
copper tubing for a permanent fix.
Never install a blowoff valve on a car not designed for it. It
immediately causes mixture problems and will trash your catalytic
converters faster than you can say "Krispy Kritter."
