The early 50's cars had a slightly differen bumper as well, with a
thin "overrider" above the corners.

FWIW, the DKW name was ruined in Finland by the post-war faux-DKW
IFA's forced upon us by the immoral and unjust war reparations to the
neighbouring soviets after placing second in the war.  I remember
growing up in the sixties, looking at a lot of Moskvitches, Wartburgs,
Volgas, Trabants, EMWs (wow!) etc.  It was sure nice to have a dad who
was a VW dealer...

Thank god most of those cars have died, along with the commies who
brought them upon us.
