boost gauge install

where should I attach my autometer boost gauge?.

I got the nylon tubing specific for my vacuum/boost gauge, 
I first removed the plastic covering under the steering colum and spliced the rubber tubbing w/ green lines  under the steering column & inserted a T hose,...connected the hose with the nylon tubings, connected the tubings to the gauge.
I tried it for a spin but the gauge would not move, ...I then removed the connection to the T hose and blow at the hose, the needle moves which means the gauge is working?, could there be a problem with my line?, am seeing .8 bar when keys turned on and can reach boosts up to 1.4 bar.
