83 5kt fan resistor

Huw - The resistor I am asking about is mounted on the body of the engine
compartment, just underneath the radiator plastic fill reservoir. I saw in
the wiring schematic that there might also be a resistor mounted to the fan
motor housing, but when checking with the meter, all seemed well except the
large resistor mounted on the car bbody, and that is what I pulled off when
I saw that it had literally corroded and broke apart. I thought I did type
in the first message that this was a type 83 (so I learned from all of you
a few months back) since it is a 1983 5kt sedan automatic. Thanks, Tex.
