Javad,
Asked dad and he said there are 2 maps that control this, as several people
have stated. Supposedly its unavailable, but knowing this list I would
imagine someone has them. Dad suggested Ned at IA or perhaps Scott M. would
have them. The maps allow the computer to vary everything according to temp
rpm ect ect ect.. all the various conditions the ecu is monitoring. Hope
this helps a little.
Rob

Yes, you are right I suppose, what I really want to know is what is the
standard timing advance for RPM and the standard retard for boost before the
knock sensor is activated. Maybe there is no straight answer if the control
unit is constantly fiddling with it.
When you program an ignition system, there are basic values that the ECU
uses, before they are modified by temp, TPS, and other inputs. I am trying
to establish a baseline ignition map.

Per se, there's no such thing. There are two base maps to cater for two
basic sets of knock characteristics - each map is two-dimensional (rpm and
boost) and subsequently modified before use by inlet air temperature.
Even at idle, the timing is not constant.
