I was going to say that Audi dealers made boat parts look more reasonable.

The reason fasteners may fail more on boat motors is that you run boats at
higher Rpm more continuously than in a car engine. I mean, how often do
you run your car at 4.5-5k rpms for an hour or two straight? Do it all the
time in our boat. Those higher RPM's result in more vibes. Another
reason: A small leaking hose may do so for some time on a car before it
blows to the point you have to replace it, while a leaking boat hose could
sink the boat while docked and you weren't there for a couple of days.

My boating partner always complains that the engine sounds 'funny.' Engine
is a straight 6 cyl engine, same as found in millions of Chevrolet
trucks. I ask him how often do you ride in the engine compartment of a
truck while it's turning a steady 4.5k rpm? Sounds a little different in
that circumstance as compared to how you normally hear a truck engine
through an exhaust.
