Type 44 (100/200 post '89) A/C

Any of you A/C gurus know whether or not the High Pressure switch on these cars are prone to Freon leakage failure? (mine still functions, and there is a leak somewhere around it) The shop guy says its common for them to leak and that it should be replaced. I thought a new O-ring would probably do (I'd do this job myself, but since I don't have any oil or Freon to make up for the loss in the system, I might as well just have it done there).
