Well eventually the 80t will be reduced to parts, sigh. When the engine
comes out then I will be able to offer the following parts:
1. Garret T3, bought for $650, most likely undamaged in fire, no oil coking
due to heat anywhere, 1000 mile use on all new parts, 1 year warranty
through ATP
2. ATP exhaust manifold, bought for $125, T3/4 flange, any Audi/VW 4
cylinder except 1.8t
3. Rebuilt GTi (RD) head, $250 for rebuild w/o parts, everything new except
valves and springs
4. 2.0 (3A) bottom end, 70k miles, 8.5:1 Suloy pistons bought for $500,
Goetze rings, probably needs to be honed and then have pistons re-fit to get
rings finally seated, not a big deal with the engine out, maybe $30 at a
machine shop
That is it for the engine bits. Most everything else I am taking with
me, though if I get a CQ or 90q20v my brakes may make it to the BIRA
marketplace, gotta be a member to buy them though. I might want to invest
in the BIRA Sys3 with Coleman rotors if I get a non-compatible car. Make me
reasonable offers if you want to buy something. I figure I'll never make
the difference to get all of my investment back, but hopefully I can make
some back, or I'll just have to rebuild this motor into a crazy fire
breathing monster, possibly stuff it into a beater Golf and have a scary
fast lightweight car, now that could be fun:)
TIA,
