When my '87  5Ktq wouldn't restart while hot, it turned out to be a split 
in the multiple-outlet hose at the back of the engine that connects the ISV 
to a couple other bits of air plumbing.  Split wasn't visible and I could 
only feel it with the fingertips if I squeezed it just right.  That was the 
most expensive-per-inch piece of hose I ever purchased.
