Peter,
Sodium valves are more of a long-term durability item--something that won't
turn up for 100k+ miles. Also, the exhaust temps are not necessarily higher
on a turbo engine that a NA one (if tuned properly). Modern engines limit
their EGT (regardless of induction) to ~1600'F to protect the catalytic
converters.
