215/45 16" is the size you want, BUT this size is not a wise choice.
Sure you get some extra width and you actually get the diameter almost
perfect compared to the stock rolling diameter, when talking 14" though. If
you go to the Tirerack you will not find a decent cost effective 215/45 16".
This size was specifically used on the front wheels of an NSX and the MR2,
not the right tire for these cars. I am going with 225/40 Kumho 712's but
my car is a FWD. I know I will not experience rubbing up front but I may
see some rubbing on the arch at the right rear, because lowered panhard cars
sit off center a bit. Though my 2Bennett coilovers should keep any
excessive roll down to keep rubbing to a minimum. You also need ET35 to run
225/40, ET45 will rub the tie rod and probably some of the componentry in
the rear of the quat independent suspension. Get some 205/45's or even
205/50's if they make them, never tried this or heard of anyone doing that.
Cheers!
