I hope this is clear: i don't defend html at all...i just didn't understand
why it seemed like a crusade against it. I have always used ascii only
settings, even before ever joining the list. The number of html posts that
I've seen was so small, that it didn't seem to be such an issue. But it is
a good reminder I guess. I just figured Dan's approach seemed best...not to
enforce too much as long as things were mostly OK.

Well actually I don't think most people on the list know that. I've been
told more than once I was using html, even though I have it set to text
only. My emails do have a MIME Version header, but never any HTML content
or MIME attachments. Speaking of which, there are more than a few people
who attach useless attachments in their email...isn't that a waste of
money??? Isn't that a some sort of misuse?
If it's gotta be clean, it's gotta be CLEAN...
