Please excuse the shameless plug for a friend but I thought I should
pass along a great opportunity for Audifans and help out an internet
friend at the same time. If the slight commercial nature of this post
offends you, click delete now and be happy that at least it is not a
MIME or HTML message ;-)
Barton Workman is the offical track photographer for Sebring and his
photography is absolutly stunning. He also is the the US Representative
for Infineon Audi R8 car #1 driver Tom Kristensen. Barton reminded me
that Tom Kristensen is going for his third straight Sebring win in the
R8 (in only his third attempt, we'll try to forgive that his first win
there was in the WMB). A win for Tom Kristensen this year would make him
only the second driver in Sebring history to win three times in a row
(Olivier Gendebien is the only driver to do so and did some 40 or so
years ago now).
Anyway, Barton and artist Robin Thompson have teamed up to create the
event poster which has and Audi R8 front and center. He is selling
limited edition lithographs from his website (only 100 printed) for only
$50.00 each pre-race price through March 17. After that they go up to
$250.00 (if there are any left). I have no personal interest in this, I
am just passing it along as I think it sounds like a great opportunity
for folks who like motorsports art. It is not a forgone conclusion Audi
will win, let alone an ultra-historic win if it happens to be the #1 R8,
but if that does happen this is a great chance to own a beautiful
tribute to Audi motorsports history. The link to Barton's site is:
http://home.earthlink.net/~foto59/prnt.html and again, I have no
affiliation or motivation here...
If nothing else, if you have an interest in Audis and motorsports be
sure to visit Barton's site to see some exceptional photos, and be sure
to click on the links to Pirro's and Kristensen's sites too (some good
Italian food recipes on Pirro's site BTW). (Hint, Barton's fashion
photography ain't bad either <g>)
As Barton would say...all for now
