NAC: Destroyed new Passat

Before the days of driver training classes in the schools, the Michigan 
State Police had a "safety" booklet they gave to every first-time license 
applicant that included a photo I'll never forget.  It showed a 1940's 
sedan (this was in the early '50's) that had gone off a rural two-lane road 
and struck a tree,  with the impact catapulting the driver through the roof 
of the car.  The driver was hanging from a branch on the tree maybe ten 
feet above the car.
