'93 100S cost/price/value

Well, I for one think discussions of cost and price and value
_are_ topical. For example, Edmund's (www.edmunds.com) lists 
these numbers for a 1993 Audi 100S sedan:

Trade-In: $6,711 
Private Party Market: $7,463 
Dealer Retail: $8,715  

So, $10,900 for one whose "brakes pulsate, motor needs a tune 
up and the front crankshaft seal is leaking" would be "poor value" 
in my book. But maybe I'm cheap. OK, I am cheap.
