loose rear strut on UrQ?

Eric,

The rear wheels have a Camber adjusting Tie rod assembly at the top. The
joint seals fail and one or more of the tie rod joints fail . . . .and that
results in a worn joint and play.

I just changed one of these on my 88 5000q. Measure carefully the spread of
the tie rod assembly before you remove it. Also measure another point from
the top of the wheel hub assembly to chassis. When you install the new tie
rod, you want to make sure you have the same measurements. That might save
you a wheel alignment.

You can buy the entire tie rod assembly, or just the end that is worn out. I
suggest buying the whole thing.
You will need a puller to remove the ball joint end of the tie rod. Tighten
up on the puller, then give the area couple of whacks with a brass
hammer - - - the joint should pop free.

While you got the car up, check the other side tie rod assembly for cracked
seals and loose joints.
