ok here's the deal..
the crankseal replacement went without a hitch...
i managed to slide small allen in the seal near the crank...
note without, sratching/touching the crank...
turned the allen wrench to where it would be pulling on the seal..
grabbed some pliers and pop...
it came right out..
definately the source of the leak..
thanks to all that replied...
however...
my oil temp gauge is still not working...
and i changed the sending unit...
already tried a used one... actually two...
so i thought they were bad..
wrong... installed the new one and oil temp still sits @ rock bottom..
this is the digital dash on the 86 4kq..
but however when i ground the wire out the temp gauge does peg out
(go off the scale)
checked voltage from the sending unit.. about .8 volts...
anyone else ever deal with this?
i would think gauge but when i ground it it pegs..
also tried hooking up jumper cables to the block around the area in case it
was a grounding issue... nope...
please help!!
