I now understand one reason why there are so many posts to the list
with garbage text - it's a built-in bug with AOL version 6.0.
In researching the question of how to send email from AOL without
including HTML code, I found the information below on another list
today. I also note the comment AOL user on the Q-list that version
6.0 of AOL has a known bug in that it forces you to include HTML tags
on all messages. (That's about the kind of crap I expect from AOL.)
He recommended you go back to version 5 and wait for AOL to come up
with a new version.
I thought the idea below might be helpful - you would only need to
use it when posting to listservs such as the Quattro list.
The BEST solution? Jaryd mentioned it. Use AOL only to establish
your Internet connection, the minimize it and run and use Netscape's
email (Communicator) for all your email!
Best wishes....
