External Antenna - Background Info

Ah, another unknown (to me). Is the integrated AM windshield antenna
amplified externally from the radio on the 200s, etc.? I was conjecturing
impedance mismatch as the reason that aftermarket radios don't seem
to cope with windshield antennas very well.
