MC transplants

Listers,

In the course of my web surfing i have seen a number of articles and
messages referring to transplanting the MC turbo engine into a 4kq.
Why is the MC so widely preferred above the other I5 turbos? How do the
others compare?
Also would it be suitable for transplant into a 1985 quattro coupe?
