HI Guys
I finally tracked down the problem, why do I always get the weird
ones?
Anyhow, the timing reference sensor (crank position) is screwy.
When cold it checks out fine with 1000ohms between pins 1 and 2.
When the engine is hot it reads infinite. As it only needs this
reference to start the car it's fine unless I shut it off when
it's hot. I had previously checked this sensor but it must have
been cold enough then.
So, does anyone have a spare one sitting around? It appears to
be a dealer only item and I'm scared to check with them. None of
the local wrecking yards have any turbo 5000's so I'm out of luck
there.
Hmmm, wonder if I can just use a generic proximity switch?
