Don't think that it will be in the tank, it'll be in the bottom of the
filler pipe. Discovered a lot about the inside of Audi tanks during the UK
fuel crisis last year when I had to transfer fuel from my cgt into a metro.
The bottom of the filler is closed off and has a much smaller diameter pipe
welded into it. That smaller pipe curves sharply upwards towards the top of
the tank. Guess that its to stop the tank being siphoned via the filler.
Doesn't stop you doing it through the fuel gauge fitting though.
