MC-2 let lloose.. (short, curious)

<Vulture mode off> ;)
<200Q modder-mode on>...

FWIW - the MC-1 engine while having only one knock sensor and the K-26 turbo
has a lower compression ratio than the MC-2.

This is part of what give the MC-2 more low-end torque, but conversely
prevents it from running higher boost levels that can be run on the earlier
engine. If you are picking up a donor motor, it might be worth opening yours
up and converting it to a hybrid MC-1/2.

The pistons and head from the new engine (MC-1) could go into the old block
(MC-2) provided it's still ok and give you the benefit of the newer ECU with
better knock control, the newer turbo K24, which the UrS4/6 uses to crank
out 230-280 HP, and the lower compression pistons allowing higher boost
levels.

The piston swap can be done with the motor in the car and everything else is
just bolt-back-on.

It's an idea that I've been tinkering with and perhaps Phil or somebody can
add their thoughts. Scott might suggest that he re-chip your ECU but perhaps
it's just a stiffer spring.
