Well coming up the really nasty mountain pass today I had the bad luck
of shooting straight off the road burying the front end in a snow bank.
Thanks to softwall technology there was damage but the car was high centered
up front and the wheel were touching nothing at all. I hopped out and
tossed my ski gear on so I could hand dig her out. Several cars passed
without a glance, that had a me a bit huffed. Then what do I hear to the
side of my head, the warm rumble of an I5 20v motor, really an unmistakable
noise. Nice fellow, his
wife(girlfriend?), and dog hopped out and gave me a hand. He backed up his
90q20v to my tail facing down the hill. He ties the two lower hooks on the
underside of the boot together and yanks me out lickity split. I mean he
pulled up with a freshly lit cigarette and had me out fully about half way
through his smoke.
His wife grinned and slowly started to say, "I shouldn't say it, but...
why didn't you get a real Audi?" I knew it was coming, but hey it was
definitely called for, no one belonged on that pass today without some 4WD
and good ground clearance, I screwed myself over on that one. Though after
two tries on the tippy top of the pass I had enough momentum to make it, I
actually could have made it the first time but a minivan killed my head
start, but that's another frustration story...
I never asked if he was a lister because they zoomed off rather quickly,
wasn't the safest corner to hang around on. Though if you are a lister I am
greatly in debt and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love when
having an Audi pays off, well besides everytime I drive it:)
Cheers!
